PowerUp BETA
PowerUp is a summer program that teaches children the gospel. It is fun, exciting, and a great break from the regular school-year program!
PowerUp Goals:
1. To help children gain and grow in a physical skill.
2. To use that skill to help them know and share the gospel.
Why is the program called PowerUp?
PowerUp develop children physically and spiritually. In the first part of the night, experienced leaders PowerUp children with physical skills. (Your church may choose skills like: soccer, volleyball, art, cooking, puppets, woodworking, etc.). In the second part, the children PowerUp their spiritual skills by learning what the gospel is and how to share it. Romans 1:16 says “the gospel of Christ…is the power of God to salvation.”
How the gospel is taught.
PowerUp Physically: The children learn a particular skill each week, have fun demonstrations of that skill, and practice that skill. (Your church may choose skills like: soccer, volleyball, art, cooking, puppets, woodworking, etc.)
PowerUp Spiritually: PowerUp uses the physical skills the children learn to teach them the spiritual skills of sharing Jesus. Over the summer, the children will learn that the gospel starts with learning about God and then with understanding how that applies to themselves. The gospel is taught like this: God is perfect; I am sinful. God is just; I am unable; God is love; that means I can have eternal life. This makes the gospel easy to remember (God , Me , God , Me , God , Me .) It is also a biblical approach to sharing the gospel because when we understand who God is, we better understand my true standing before God.
